The Real Estate Staging Association (RESA) held its annual conference in Las Vegas January 23rd-25th, 2011. During Tammie O’Brien’s presentation on Inventory Management, she shared that while she was reading Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham to her five year old daughter, it reminded her of the reaction she often receives when speaking to Home Stagers about their managing their inventory.
Completely flattered, Tammie was approached by several Stagers to share her poem. So here it is — enjoy!
I own some pillows, throws and art
I love to shop and fill my cart
I like to shop here and there
I like to shop everywhere
But wait, now I have all this stuff
And my spouse is saying enough is enough
You stuff is in my garage you see
You need to leave my cave stuff free
I’m a Stager, just let me be
I promise I can make money eventually
But there are times I am just not sure
If I should carry inventory any more
I do not like to store it here and there
I do not like to schlep it everywhere
I do not like to track it for sure
I just want to stage, all else is a bore
I need a job, it can’t be a hobby
Help me please to make some money!
